Where Else Can You Go with a Schengen Visa ?

26/05/2015

Schengen visa is a document issued to grant travelers who wish to visit a country belonging to the schengen area accessibility to it and to all the countries making up the shengen zone which covers

26 member countries (22 among which are part of the EU and 4 are part of the EFTA).

Basically, the agreement was set to give nationals of countries belonging to the Schengen member states travel freedom within the Schengen area (as explained in a previous blog )

Citizens belonging to non-Schengen member countries need a Schengen visa to enter the Schengen area. However, a Schengen visa grants its holders more travel freedom and accessibility to other countries which are not part of the Schengen area. Meaning, a Schengen visa grants a traveler, who is a national of a non-Schengen member country more visa-free destinations other than the Schengen area. Most of those countries do not require visa from any traveler who is a national of any country in the world if having a Schengen visa. So, where else can you go with a schengen visa ?
